Networking Devices

in this article, we are discussing some of the networking devices which is used at the layer 3, 2 and 1 of the osi model. In my previous article i discussed the OSI model.

Internet Homecoming

Vast variety of the physical devices help in delivery of the Internet to the house, offices etc.. there is a vast variety of physical devices like optical fiber (deliver the 5g internet), ethernet, router, modem, etc… They all are working together in a system and deliver the Internet

The internet is managed by the Internet Services Provide and content delivery network(CDN). These organization are responsible for providing the internet to our home, offices and campus area etc… These company are the backbone of the internet.

In house physical devices

Physical devices which help in connecting the internet are Modem and Router. the role of the modem is to convert the signal that is provided by the ISP company and the role of the Router is use the convert signal and distribute the internet to all the device present in the range.

Some of the devices like Switch and Hub are also very useful in the distribution of internet at the local area network (LAN)

Hub

the hub is the center authority which help in broadcast of the internet to all the ports. It took the internet and broadcast the internet to every devices by the LAN. Hub are now replaced by the modern tech called switch due to the drawback of the high network traffic collisions and security risks.

Switch

Switch are used very commonly in LAN. a Switch learns the MAC address of every connected device. It sends data only to the specific port where the destination device is connected. the advantage of the switch Reduces collisions and improves security and speed.
